BEST FEMALE DANCER IN DURBAN,KEELEE


1. Who are you?
-I'm Shaquille Aanika King,Aka Keelee


2. When did your journey begin?
-When I was 13,I started dancing,taking lessons,working on dancing professionally.


3. What motivates you daily?
-The people's lives who I have touched thru dance.


4. Who is your inspiration?
-Ciara Princess Harris well known as "CIARA" is my inspiration


5. When and where is your next performance?
-March at the T.I concert


6. Do you see a future in Durban Dance Industry?
-No people don't respect dancers as much as other places,make late payments or never pay & expect dancers to do what they do for free.


7. What are challenges or obstacles do you come across as a crew/performer(s),especially when performing around durban?
-So many but mostly getting people to pay us for performing or getting people to respect us as dancers. That what we do takes time,energy,passion... Its a job like any other but people just think its a hobby therefore don't want to pay good money to see us perform.


8. Why does it seems like we have less number of dancers then before in Durban?
-Yes! I remember the dance scene being much bigger around bat centre,having girls groups and krump crews.


9. What makes Durban Dance Industry Good/Bad from other cities in SA?
-Dance opportunities or gigs are not as plentiful as jhb or cpt. There aren't as many dance companies too.


10. How can we make sure that Dance/performing Art still exist and well presentable in the city of Durban?
-Get people to know that dance is more than just a hobbie,its our bread and butter,our hustle & we deserve to be treated with respect & payed like any other working person.


11. Is there anything you would like to share with us or with your supporters
-Follow your dreams regardless of what people think,live life for no other human being but yourself.
